Making muffins is something I am inordinately proud of.
While we were in the US Alain discovered muffins. Or, as it is translated in French "un muffin".
While shopping at Barnes&Noble, I bought a Muffin book with recipes and a silicone muffin mold for 6 muffins. This is good because it is impossible to find muffin paper cups here.
I brought back two boxes of muffin mix, banana nut and wild blueberry.
Each time I have measured out half of the mix, and made 6 muffins.
This is about the level of my cooking skills folks-
take muffin mix. Stir in 1/8 cup of vegetable oil, one egg, and 1/4 cup milk. Spoon into muffin pan. Bake for about 20 minutes. Voila!
Heaven knows what will happen when I run out of muffin mix.
I might actually have to start making them from scratch.
Someone has turned into quite a muffin-head.
This is something that I can't figure out why the French don't seem to stock in their grocery stores. Strange animal parts- yes. Horse meat- yes. Tripe- yes.
Something that actually tastes good like muffin mix or Oreo cookies- no. Heaven forbid!

You have to come to Lambesc.
Our Casino grocery store has muffin mix, Oreo cookies and I think they even have the paper muffin cups.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but living in a big city like Marseille sure seems to have some disadvantages :)
ps:
we've got Hershey bars, and Pepperidge Farms Goldfish Crackers, Aunt Jemima pancake mix, and more, too.
I'm pretty sure I saw muffin mix in the large Casino in Toulouse and the Carrefour in Lyon.
Hi Megan,
I make all my muffins from scratch and it's the easiest thing... I guarantee it!! And, they taste much better than the box mix... I can send you some recipes if you'd like.. Let me know... Bon weekend.. Leesa
My favorite is lemon poppy seed. In college, I ate them toasted with cream cheese. Yummy.
I don't know if our local store has muffins, but they have oreos, gold fish, Aunt Jemima pancake mix, and Pepperidge Farms cookies....
Okay, I'm a big, fat liar...my Casino doesn't have any more muffin mix, but they do still have lots of Oreos and GoldFish. I am pretty sure you can get the muffin mix at Paradox in Aix.
